About Kiera Murphy, LMHC

I’m here to help you feel calm, clear, & confident in your life again.

I’m a New York & New Jersey based mental health clinician helping Gen Z and Millennials manage anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and OCD-tendencies.

You're here because something in your life no longer feels sustainable.

You're here because something in your life no longer feels sustainable.

Maybe anxiety has started to take over your thoughts—your mind constantly replaying conversations, anticipating what could go wrong, or questioning whether you made the right decision. Maybe perfectionism and the pressure to succeed leave you feeling like you can never fully relax, as though everything has to be done perfectly and even your accomplishments rarely feel like enough.

Maybe you find yourself stuck in cycles of self-doubt, overthinking your choices, or saying “yes” to things you don’t truly want to do because it feels easier than disappointing someone.

Over time, these patterns can leave you feeling mentally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of how to move forward.

You know something needs to change, and you're ready to understand yourself more deeply so you can move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and self-trust.

How I work:

My Approach: Moving Beyond Insight to Real Change

Many of the people I work with are already highly insightful. They’ve spent years reflecting on their patterns and trying to understand why they feel the way they do.

Insight is valuable—but insight alone doesn’t always create relief.

In our work together, we focus on understanding the deeper beliefs and emotional patterns driving your experiences so you can begin responding to them differently in real time.

My work draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), and EMDR. These approaches allow us to explore both the thoughts and emotional experiences that shape your reactions, relationships, and sense of self.

Together, we’ll explore the deeper patterns behind your anxiety—whether it’s persistent worry, fear of failure, difficulty managing stress, or the pressure to constantly meet expectations.

Rather than simply talking about these patterns, we’ll work to understand where they come from and practice responding to them in new ways so you can build greater self-trust, resilience, and confidence in your life.

Therapy with me is…

  • I create a space where you can feel completely heard and validated. I take the time to understand your unique experiences, struggles, and goals so that our work together is meaningful and tailored to your needs.

  • I recognize that growth takes time and that each individual’s journey is different. I provide the space and support necessary for you to move at your own pace, with compassion and without judgment

  • Our sessions are focused on tangible progress, equipping you with practical tools and strategies to address your challenges. I work collaboratively with you to ensure our time together is purposeful and leads to lasting positive change.
